Health Risks of Weight

Health Risks of Weight
Excess weight and health tend to go hand-in-hand these days. More and more we are hearing of children being diagnosed with diabetes due to excess weight and adults realizing that excess weight is a large contributor to many severe health conditions. Here’s a more detailed list of weight-related conditions:
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Gallbladder Disease
  • Heartburn
  • Heart Disease
  • High Cholesterol
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Psychological Depression
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Stroke
As you can see, these conditions are no laughing matter. Aside from the physical implications of excess weight, there are also emotional implications as well. People affected by excess weight sometimes suffer from depression or a lack of self confidence. They may even face weight-stigma or discrimination in their daily lives, which can deepen their depression.

Whether physical or emotional, health risks associated with excess weight are a serious matter and need to be addressed appropriately.
